Monsters added to dull landscapes

"Mountain Monster" by Chris McMahon

"Ropin Cowboys" by Thyrza Segal

"Throat shark is looking for a good time" by Chris McMahon

One of the most creative thing to do after a car boot sale. Turn those tired, old lanscapes into brilliant monster pictures! Artists Chris McMahon and Thyrza Segal have each added a fantastic collection of monsters to dull landscape paintings that they found at various yard sales and thrift stores. Prints of the enhanced paintings by Thyrza (Etsy) and Chris (deviantART) are available to purchase online.

Google; Atari Breakout

Get yourself onto Google's image search today and type in 'Atari Breakout', you won't be disappointed. The Google team, have wisely spent their time making a version of Breakout using the images found in the search, it even has sound effects!!!
Once you complete the level it even continues by reloading the game with images from a random other search.

Enjoy everyone!

Google Chrome - Replacement Icon

Put together a new Google Chrome icon for my dock last night. My fiancée Jess prefers the big G version, I think I prefer the lower case. Enjoy! Can send .icns file, simply request in the comments below. Cheers!

What's the hype?

Today on Mashable is a post about the amazing revalation of Nokia releasing a phone for only $20! Wow! What value, what a genius idea by Nokia, if only phone companies had thought of this before, finally we're saved from the extortionate prices of smartphone! No.

Great, they've released a new phone, but it's not the first time they've released a cheap starter phone and I'm sure won't be the last. Other companies do it to, even Tesco have one, although it's more like a pocket calculator and is I'm pretty sure it's made from bio-degradable cardboard!

This is not an awe-inspiring, incredible new release and I think Mashable might be scraping the barrel here trying to make an interesting article. The phone doesn't even look that good, just a re-hash of old tech in a slightly newer looking case. 35day battery life? Well for anyone who wasn't already aware, welcome to the world of cheap Nokias, battery life and reliability are generally what they're known for.

So Mashable, stop trying to manufacture hype for a product that really couldn't be less intersting!

Grey London

Grey London are a digital advertising agency based in Hatton Gardens in London. This is now just round the corner from our new Yellow Digital office.

When posting a birthday card for my mum last week it was hard to miss the big, fancy office building of Grey London. They definitely don't do things by halves these guys! And that certainly goes for their advertising campaigns too. I knew I'd heard of them before, and their online portfolio proves why I recognise them.

Being a Westcountry lad my favourite out of their campaigns is definitely Bill Bailey's role in the FACE campaign. Horse eggs, genius Bill, just genius.

The other favourite has to be the space chair, a fantastic concept and the final footage they gathered was incredible. Stunning HD video of a chair in space, very impressive. It's a big backhanded compliment when you do something so well people think it must be fake and just CGI.

Check out Grey London's website for a great injection of inspiration today! You won't be disappointed.

Tinke Literally Takes Your Breath!

Singapore agency Kilo took on the project of giving local product developer Zensorium a presence on the global marketplace, and boy did they do that!

Firstly, the product itself brilliant. the Tinke is a quick and easy way to check your fitness by simply putting your thumb onto two sensors and plugging the device into your iPhone. It's the only one of its kind on the market and is so simple yet so effective. It's bound to spawn many copycat devices, but this is the original and therefore the best. Check out the website for more info on the Tinke.

Now to the design! I was absolutely amazed at the sheer beauty of the site. They use the vertical scroll to animate the Tinke from one section to another and smoothly transition each step of the process with a beauty and simplicity that is simply breathtaking. I have seen this technique used before but never this comprehensively and well designed.

Check out the Web Designer Magazine article for a full interview with the Kilo team who are the genius behind the site. Full respect for them and this wonderful piece of design. Inspired... and then some!
